For over 30 years, the Junior League of Gainesville has organized a “toy sale” in our community for families who might not otherwise have gifts for their children over the holidays. Throughout the year, we collect new and/or gently used toys, bikes, playhouses, games, puzzles, dolls, and books. In addition, our league fundraises to provide a budget in order to purchase new toys for the event. On the first Saturday of December, local families that have been provided by partner agencies, attend the Miracle on Main Street to pick-up their gifts which have been personally shopped for them

How can you help?

We are happily accepting donations to support our community outreach programs, including Miracle on Main Street. Learn more.

At a variety of levels, a local company can become a corporate sponsor. This sponsorship provides the funds to purchase toys, bikes, and other necessary goods and services for our event. Corporate sponsors will receive acknowledgment in all publicity, including but not limited to print advertising, social media posts, and event signage. Individual sponsors can also choose to sponsor a family, child, or big-ticket item.

• Host a toy, clothing, or diaper drive at your office or next event. You can collect items at your workplace, school, place of worship, or at your next event. Need our league to pick up the items you collect or want to arrange drop off? Please email [email protected].
• Shop for a specific family. If you are interested in shopping for the needs of a particular family, please email [email protected] and we can gladly provide you with one or more family’s wish lists.
• Donate your gently used items. Have toys, clothes or other items in good condition that could have a second life? Please email [email protected] and we can arrange pick-up or drop-off of these items.

You can help families in our community with just a few clicks. Our Amazon Wish List, Target Wish List, and Walmart Wish List will provide gifts for our 32nd annual Miracle on Main Street event.

There are also items on each Wish List, such as kitchen utensils and pans, that will help support our Action Against Hunger programs. These items are shipped directly to JLG! A link featuring all of our wish lists and ways to support can also be found here.

The 2021 Miracle on Main Street was a huge success! A few notable facts:

• 2,000+ toys were given to 584 children
• 180+ packs of diapers and wipes were distributed
• We worked with 23 community partners
• Each of the 230 families who attended also received a pantry bag as part of our Action Against Hunger initiative
